These blue leg warmers are being knit by our very own Madeline, an 11 year old, local knitter! Not only is she our store helper this holiday season, she is also a soccer player, who is expecting an ipod for Christmas!
Check out these cool new handles we have in! One pair even allows you to add your own beads. Don't see what you need? Ask to order straight from the catalog. Items arrive in about a week.
Please join us for Knit Night (Nov. 26) Monday from 5-7pm at the Coffee Mill. Enjoy snacks, yarn give aways, & a coupon for your next knitting project!
So.....I went to the beach for Thanksgiving with my family and knitted these adorable felted elf shoes for my two year old nephew. (They knit up with one skein of lopi and some scrap yarn for the cuff). Well.....in the vein of all two year olds....he WON'T wear them!! All that knitting for nothing!:)
Here is a UVA colored baby kimono I just finished for some friends who are having a baby. I am going to add an orange ribbon for the tie and try not to write something in the card about them getting beat by Virginia Tech yesterday!
Hope to see you at knit night at the Coffee Mill on Monday night (Oct. 29th) from 5 to 7pm. Also, the Radford downtown Trick or Treat Trail is Wednesday for all you trick or treaters!
I love this felted bag because it reminds me of fall and filling up a cute bag with goodies from the farmer's market! I also love her red boots, which seem so appropriate with all the rain we've been having!
This bag was supposed to be a felted carpet bag. It turned out HUGE! The wood you see sticking out of the top is a wooden structure I had to build to block the bag and give it shape! I sewed the flowers on with scraps of wool yarn. Hopefully you will see the finished product soon!
Hope to see you at Knit Night at the Coffee Mill, Monday August 27th 5-7pm. Stick around for live music starting at 7!
If you like recycled silk yarn you will LOVE recycled rayon! Textured and colorful, check out the new patterns we have in as well! Knit up a pair with a skein of wool and recycled silk or rayon.

I've just returned from the Needle Arts Show in Columbus, Ohio. Very cool city. They had a gallery hop downtown while we were there. I was definetely inspired by all the creative energy in the city! We have new yarns arriving daily. The latest and greatest is called Tango--a ribbon yarn that makes ruffles as it knits. Learn how to knit with this new yarn at our "Love to Tango" class on Tuesday, June 19th at 6pm. To register-please call 540.639.2015. Hope to see you there!
Okay... here it is... our story... all wrapped in a ball... now unraveled one project at a time!
Why Knot? For over 16 years, Encore Artful Gifts has been providing local artists a venue for expression and customers the access to creative gifts. In 2004, a local consigner said, “Why not carry yarn.” We said, “why not??!!”
. . . and then came yarn! We knew we were crazy but in 2005 we began to unravel! January 1, 2005, Encore Artful Gifts gave birth to a 1,500 sq ft. yarn shop called Unraveled . Full of energy and life this funky yarn shop is re-creating creativity! Stocked with vibrant colors and yummy textures, we keep the shop unique by selling yarn and patterns from small companies! At Unraveled, it is our job to stay on top of the latest trends and share them with our customers. From felting cool bags to knitting with beads we do it all!
Now owned by Karen Gore, we are still re-creating creativity!Whether you visit us for a class, a party, or just to hang out, we hope you will enjoy the Unraveled experience. We welcome your feedback as we grow and look forward to seeing you!
Can't wait to meet you, Karen, Stacey and the Unraveled/Encore Gals
